catching up.

So...it's been a while.
I had hoped to get all caught up on the blog while I was at home, but that visit got cut short and there was too many other things that I felt like I should do that took precedence over the blog.
'Cus you know, I'll have tons of time to do it once we get back on the road....
Yeah, right.
I was kept fairly busy this past week with a few good books I couldn't stop reading, and a bunch of naps I couldn't stop myself from taking. Not to mention the lack of cell service in most parts of the northern and north-western US.
At the moment we are on I-35 just past Fort Worth, TX headed to Waco, where I will have the pleasure of helping take tarps off of our current load. I can't wait!  Ha.
But before I tell you all about today, I guess I obviously need to catch you up on the past 3 weeks.
I can't really remember the particular loads we were carrying, nor can I remember the exact day we were in any of these places, but I know the states.
These pictures are on the road from Miles City, Montana to Sheridan Wyoming.

So my first thought when coming up on these mountains was "ROCKIES" but no, these are not the Rockies. They are a smaller chain called the Little Bighorns. Still pretty impressive, but I haven't seen the Rockies this close yet, so I can't really compare them.

These little boogers in the next picture, well, I'll just say they are really extremely sharp and sticky and they REALLY HURT if you sit on one. Oopsies.

I'm going to separate the "catching up" pictures into different posts so they are easier to keep track of. Mostly just because I want to take a bathroom break and I want to post this so everyone can read it and leave me comments, 'cus comments warm my already warm heart (it's 98.6 in there, yo). Anyways, I like to read everyone's comments-it shows me that y'all really do read this and I'm not just tapping away on the keyboard (and ignoring Jesse's pleadings to heat him up some food because I'm too caught up in writing to pay any attention to him) for nothing. :)

  1. Yay for an update :) It's fun to read your blog and see all the beautiful pictures! Now I will never have to take that "fun" trip traveling ALL over the US -- you know, the ones families take that consist of being away from home for a month -- do you realize how much DRIVING that is? Do you realize how much I like being at other places, but strongly dislike the "getting there" part? Do you realize how bad my hubby and I are with directions? So, THANK YOU for helping me out! :)

PS: Still waiting to hear you elaborate (whew! that's a hard word to spell -- ??) on the MENU! :) maybe next post? :) special request. thanks!

    love you!

    1. You're very welcome :) Oh yes, I DO realize how much driving that is! hehe :) Taking pictures has made the "getting there" part much easier!! And I am equally horrible with directions...I have told Jesse the wrong way to go numerous times! He has given up asking me to help in that regard :)

As for the menu..I am sad to say we have only used the crockpot 3 times since we started :( If I don't get the stuff together before we go, it's hard to find a grocery store when we actually have time to run in! But this trip we are determined to do better, because we highly prefer crockpot food to microwave food. And I've not done too good about pausing to take a picture of the crockpot meals we have done, because we are usually STARVING by the time we dig in, probably because we smell the glorious smell all day! But soon I will do a post outlining a typical day of eating, and I will include all the different meals we have had. I promise! :)

These are bringing back ALOT of memories for me although I had alot of pics of loading and unloading in the middle of nowhere, on a ranch.. I wish I could go back to that some days!!
Thank you for taking the time to do this! And remember when you drive thru WI on 90/94.. you call me!!!!! :):)

    1. No way! We were just there Wednesday! Tigerton and Knapp I think, and we were coming from somewhere in Minnesota-we spent a lot of time on 90 and 94. I had no idea that you lived right there, I guess I thought you lived in Indiana or somewhere. Shows how much I know! Next time I will DEFINITELY call!

    1. Oh yeah definitely some good hunting! Out of everywhere we've been though, Wyoming has just been crawling with deer. Like herds of 20 every mile or 2. I didn't take any pictures though cus they had all dropped their antlers so there wasn't anything impressive to show. And you better believe I'm double checking my seat choices now! haha :) hope your move is going good!

  5. Talk about wide open country. But its beautiful. I'll just have to be satisified to see it through your camera for now. Love the horses, now take me some pictures of some big (bucks)deer. Anyway do you need a pillow for you know where? (Prickly pear) That's all for now, be careful and tell Jesse hello!

    1. All the bucks have dropped their racks so the pics of the big ones will have to wait a little! My tail is healed up, but a pillow could still be nice...doing alot of sitting ya know :) Jesse says Hi! i should make him do a post. he probably won't think that is a good idea though haha!
